My blogging concerning modeling and personal life are mostly on my wordpress, but on occasion I like to post here.
I am in one of those moods where I want to throw everything out.
I am a pack rat by nature and sentimental so I always have stuff.
Apparently the last few times were successful as I have a lot less paper left.
My room is more of a storage area as I have taken over my eldest brother’s room.
(Easier to watch out for my car lol)
It is a bit depressing though~ the only things I have as far as paper goes, aside from stationary and receipts and other necessary documentation, are tears and essays.
PS, ‘TEARS’ i.e. images you rip from a magazine/printed media or if you are lucky enough- an image of you from a magazine and not tears like the liquid that pours from ones’ eyes after listening to Stephen Colbert’s version of ‘Friday’ with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots. TONS of tears in my room. Now that I am trying to rework myself in a way to get better (paid) gigs I will delve into the trove of tears I have accumulated. Magazines from when we visited France on our school trip~ the one picture I took that I love and is no longer on my mac.
Along with everything else I decided to at least look into and try to apply for free lance writing jobs. I have a friend with a background in journalistic and blog writing and asked her for advice. Now I am putting together a resume, along with reworking my promotional resume, to apply.
In the process of almost terrorizing my room I found a few essays.
The one I will be submitting for my writing sample is about Freddie Mercury.
I remember it being well received by the professor and the professor to be liberal in views but also, as he should be, attentive to format.
I have a tendency to write as I speak and tend to be stronger at voicing my opinions through written word versus speech. Now I am well spoken and take well to impromptu especially with lighter subject matter but, when it is about something passionate or requires more research, I am much more effective through my writing.
With that being addressed, when I write as I am writing now, I have a tendency to write as my mind flutters through thoughts and am very casual (outside of vocabulary).
I am very glad this particular paper was not only well received but looked after to be in correct format.
Admittedly, I have an urge to do some very slight edits…
So today, aside from popping into the pub to make sure I wrote my schedule correctly:
I am staying in to focus on this
I have already contacted a few people asking them how they feel about climate in their area regarding self-represented talent seeking paid opportunities.
Still awaiting reply from my brother even though, since our relationship is strained, I feel he will be more inclined to not answer either out of being completely swamped or fairly annoyed at my inquiry now that I know he is in L.A.
I am researching on my own as well, but need to tweak search keywords to fine tune results.
Communication with Chinese agencies has not been happening, I think it is time to try again and if that fails move on to the next country.
Saving up for future shoots to upgrade my portfolio.
Looking for photographers, but I think I already have one in mind…
Someone needs to shoot outdoors again, and I would like to shoot outdoors again too.
Going through my tears to try and piece a story board or at least a skeleton.
